NAIC Hires First Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has hired Evelyn Boswell as its newly created diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) director. Boswell will start her new role in mid-September. According to the NAIC, the DE&I function “reinforces the NAIC’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.” Boswell will be responsible for leading the NAIC’s DE&I efforts, including overseeing the newly formed DE&I Council.
“One of the NAIC’s core values is creating a community where diverse voices are heard and valued,” said NAIC CEO Michael Consedine. “We look forward to Evelyn’s leadership as we work to strengthen the NAIC’s culture and her expertise to support the efforts of the new Special Committee on Race and Insurance.”
Boswell has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources, leading DE&I in major Kansas City organizations including Hallmark Cards, GEHA, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
