Insurance Industry Gains Jobs in August
Four of eight insurance industry job sectors showed gains in July compared with June.

The U.S. economy in August added a seasonally adjusted 3,100 jobs, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, which reported that the insurance industry gained 4,700 jobs. A.M. Best reports that four of eight insurance industry job sectors showed gains in July compared with June. They were direct title insurance and other direct insurance carriers (up 0.03% with 92,100 jobs); agencies and brokerages (up 0.005% with 853,000 jobs); direct health and medical insurers (up 0.002% with 581,700 jobs); and property/casualty insurers (up 0.002% with 565,600 jobs).
